This week's rec broke my heart, in the very, very best way. This is not my usual type of rec. Even the serious ones I rec are usually served with a side of lemon, and are fun in some way. This fic is angsty and sad, and wonderful.

This fic takes place after Esme joins Carlisle and Edward, but before anyone else does. As in canon, Edward has left them and is practicing vigilantism. But he comes back, wanting things back to the way they were before. Before Esme.
