Aaaand, we're live! Welcome to the new TwiWrite blog. I know some of you are already wondering what in the world this could be. Well, this nifty little post is going to tell you.
With the opening of the new site back in October, we've had a huge response. I honestly thought we'd have maybe a hundred members at this point, at best. Never did I imagine over a thousand. It has kind of blown me away, so thank you to everyone for your support.
We've had some glitches here and there, and the site is still brand spankin' new, but we're getting there. It's my goal to make TwiWrite an awesome place for you all to find amazing fics and great writers. Please bear with us as we do so, because we can't make it a great place without you.
Now, back to this nifty little blog you're looking at. We've been working on this for a while now, and I'm happy to finally have it open. This blog is going to be an "extra", if you will, to coincide with the site: an all around fun place to come and find information on amazing stories posted on the site, and also a place to stay in the know. We'll have site news, contests, affiliate updates, and some LOLZ segments that'll keep you entertained.
I know it sounds like every other blog out there, but we're going to, at least at first, only focus on things posted on the site. Stories featured here might also be on some of the other awesome sites out there, but we want to features things going on with TwiWrite.
I also like to stay in the know about things, and I'm sure a lot of you do as well. We do have a twitter account, but not everyone can keep up with tweets 24/7, so we'll be able to give updates here if we are hosting an event, need your help, or have site issues. I know when a site goes down - because let's face it, it does happen sometimes - I want some idea of what is going on and not just to be ignored. We want to keep you in the know. This is where we will do that.
So, please stay tuned to all the exciting things to come. I know everything looks a little bare right now, but over the next week, and posts start going up, things will look a little different. At the top you will see the menu. It will give you a list of all the segments. For a little while you might notice that some of them don't take you anywhere. There is a reason behind this.
We can't link you to segments that haven't posted yet. Once all the segments become available, you'll be able to find what you want easily by the browse menu at the top. Since all of our segments are run weekly, or biweekly, this shouldn't take long for all the links to become available.
We do have a calender of events up there. It's rather bare right now, but we'll have it filled up in no time. If you have a contest, news, awards, etc that you'd like to share with us, just use the form and we'll get you on our list. Same goes for affiliation. Just click the menu up top and find what you're looking for.
